The Career and Educational Counseling Center at South Oaks Hospital Recognizes Business Community - Employers cited for outstanding support of students with special needs
Amityville, NY, June 16, 2014 - The Career and Educational Counseling Center at South Oaks Hospital recently hosted a breakfast recognizing the invaluable support provided to students with disabilities by national and local retailers and businesses.
Cassie Reilly, transitional coordinator of Northport High School, presented an important overview of the internship/employment program while providing heartfelt commentary from the students regarding their experiences.
"The partnership with employers in the community is essential to the future success of our students" said Karen Gross, rehabilitation counselor, at South Oaks Hospital. "The skills they learn are a bridge to employment opportunities as well as creating an environment that fosters greater understanding in matching students' interests and abilities with appropriate employment."
