Broadlawn Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Welcomes Multi-talented Performer, Dominic Chianese!
AMITYVILLE, NY (March 12, 2014) - Singer, musician and actor Dominic Chianese, best known for his portrayal of Uncle Junior on HBO's smash TV series The Sopranos, recently thrilled patients and residents at the Broadlawn Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center when he stopped by to visit and put on a show.
Mr. Chianese's great tenor voice awed the crowd with standard American and Italian favorites, evoking memories, tears and overwhelming applause from the audience.
"I must admit, I am a big fan," said Gerard Kaiser, Vice President of Senior Services at Broadlawn Manor. "The opportunity to meet Mr. Chianese in person was something I was really looking forward to. Now that we have met, I am even a bigger fan. It is one thing to admire an outstanding talent; it is another to meet a true gentleman who continuously uses his gifts to enrich the quality of life for individuals who are homebound or in long term care facilities."
During the l980s , Mr. Chianese established the Joy Through Art Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for profit public charity, whose mission is to find quality performers who wish to share their talent and reach out to others residing in long-term care facilities. The performers are compensated by the donor-supported Joy Through Art Foundation.
"It was truly a wonderful afternoon. Dominic Chianese made lots of new friends at Broadlawn Manor who will always remember his beautiful voice, kind heart and warm smile," said Elizabeth Frasca, director of therapeutic recreation at Broadlwn Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
