The Long Island Home Honors Senator Owen Johnson
On Saturday, September 8, 2012 at The Long Island Home’s Annual Picnic, Robert E. Detor, President & CEO, presented a plaque to Senator Owen Johnson in recognition of his outstanding 40 years of distinguished service. More than 400 staff, families and friends of The Long Island Home were in attendance.
Mr. Detor thanked the Senator and applauded his personal legacy of service, leadership, and inspiration to our community and wished the Senator many happy days ahead filled with family and friends.
Senator Johnson thanked Mr. Detor as well as all the employees of The Long Island Home who serve our community at South Oaks Hospital and Broadlawn Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Senator Johnson stated “the quality of healthcare provided at The Long Island Home has always been, and continues to be, a tremendous asset to the patients, their families and the entire community. Whether it was enacting new state legislation, amending Health Department Regulations or securing state grants, I am extremely gratified to have been able to provide assistance to The Long Island Home during my tenure in the State Senate.”
