BROADLAWN MANOR NURSING & REHABILITATION CENTER RECEIVES GRANT FROM FAITH HOME FOUNDATION INC.
(January 12, 2009) Gerard Kaiser, Vice President of Senior Services, announced Broadlawn Manor has been selected as the recipient of a generous grant from Faith Home Foundation Inc. located in Amityville.
The grant will be utilized to enhance the dining experience for residents on the Orchard and Grove units at Broadlawn Manor. Mr. Kaiser stated ìThe purchase of eight new adjustable dining room tables is a step towards providing a more resident-centered, home-like atmosphere. As part of an overall remodeling plan, the new tables are flexible in height to accommodate wheelchairs and personal space and can be easily folded to adapt overall space to augment activities.î
Mr. Kaiser reported the enhanced environment will not only positively affect the social interaction of our residents but anticipated outcomes include an increase in food consumption, flexibility in enjoying mealtime with peers and a decrease in the need for use of supplemental food products. On behalf of the residents, families and all of us at Broadlawn Manor, we are very appreciative of this generous grant provided by Faith Home Foundation Inc. and we look forward to inviting members of the Board of Trustees over to Broadlawn Manor to see first-hand the positive impact their generosity has provided.
