The Kiwanis Club of Massapequa Makes a Real Difference for Children at South Oaks Hospital
(January 6, 2009) The Holiday Season is a wonderful time of year for many Long Islanders. We look forward to family gatherings, greeting cards, holiday parties and gift giving. A time of year to share our hearts and treasure with those we love.
The Kiwanis Club of Massapequa chose to make a difference in the lives of children in our community. On Tuesday, December 23rd, several members of the Kiwanis Club arrived at South Oaks Hospital and delivered a wide range of toys and games to be given to the children and adolescents at South Oaks Hospital on Christmas Day. Wayne Rothwell, Director of Child and Adolescent Services welcomed the group and thanked them for their kindness and generosity. Mr. Rothwell stated, "The donations we received from the Kiwanis Club of Massapequa make such a tremendous difference for our kids on Christmas Day. On behalf of our kids, their loved ones and all of our staff, we are very grateful to this great organization for the work they do and for their heartwarming spirit of giving during this season."
