Broadlawn Manor Adult Day Services Voted 'The Best' Two Years in a Row - Survey Conducted by The Long Island Business News
(December 23, 2008) Kathleen Behan, RN, BC, Director of Adult Day Services at Broadlawn Manor, was proud to share this remarkable distinction with registrants, staff and families. Mrs. Behan stated, "This is wonderful recognition for our staff who strive continuously to enhance the quality of life for each of our registrants in a Home Away From Home environment. We appreciate and value the trust and confidence of the Long Island community."
Mrs. Behan noted the Medical (Health) program includes the use of the Wii System as part of their therapeutic recreation. The Wii combines fun and fitness while promoting balance, movement and increased exercise resulting in better outcomes for our registrants. Our Social program has enhanced its programming to include plays, pageants and parades of professional quality utilizing props, costumes, floats and, more importantly, imagination. Our participants look forward to each of these events with interest and enthusiasm.
Gerard Kaiser, Vice President of Senior Services for Broadlawn Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, congratulated all the staff for a job well done and credited the outstanding leadership and advocacy of Kathleen Behan for innovative, creative and holistic approaches to quality of life for all in her care. Mr. Kaiser stated, "This is truly an outstanding accomplishment."
