The Long Island Home, comprised of South Oaks Hospital, Broadlawn Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and C.A.R.E. has persevered since 1882 with a heritage of hope. Throughout our history, generous contributions from the community, both from individuals and businesses, have made it possible for us to develop new and innovative initiatives. Your contributions are transformed into advancing patient and resident quality of life.
Gifts may be unrestricted, in which case The Long Island Home will apply your gift to its most vital current need. Your gift may be used to underwrite new programs, acquire new equipment, research new programs, modernize or expand our outreach. The Long Island Home is committed to assisting donors in choosing how they wish to direct their gift. Your gift may double or triple if your business or corporation has a matching gift program. In Honor Of/In Memory Of
Making a gift in honor of or in memory of a loved one or friend provides a heart-warming opportunity to recognize the individual while making a difference in the lives of others. We can notify the individual(s) regarding your gift, but the amount of your gift will not be disclosed.
If you wish to make a significant contribution to The Long Island Home, arrangements can be made to pay your commitment in installments over time. Please contact Community Relations at (631) 608-5110 to discuss your gift.
Frequently, individuals look to honor or acknowledge the special attributes or achievements of a loved one or a family member. A donor may choose a visible building, wing or clinical area for remembrance and acknowledgement. This lifetime acknowledgement can be arranged by contacting Community Relations at (631) 608-5110. Naming opportunities vary with the size of your gift.

A bequest in your will is the simplest and most common method of making a planned gift. You can assure that a portion of your estate will make a difference. Simply contact your attorney and ask that the following be included in your will:

At the request of the family of John E. McGorry, The Long Island Home has proudly established the John E. McGorry Memorial Fund. Donations to this fund will be allocated to the South Oaks Hospital Challenge Activities Ropes Experience (C.A.R.E.) Course including scholarships for children participating in the Summer Camp Program, as well as fitness and wellness programs.
